He's waiting in the pile when the boys knock - a pile of soft things, that is - pillows, blankets, stuffed animals of all shapes and sizes. Aside from a couch and a coffee table, it's all that's in his small living room.
[Hoodie down to his knees, he pulls the door open-- Ah. He's expecting Kel, but it's Basil that he sees; as usual, it knocks the window out of him. He lifts a hand and weakly waves, then steps aside to let them in.]

He walks over, stooping down to scoop up Spooky, who is still a kitten, but a bit on the older side - about halfway to full grown. He cradles her like a baby, turning back to face his friends.]

It's the same for romantic movies. you watch them with peeps and you laugh at how bad tropes are, duh. There's nothing better than having a good laugh with your buds.

[Whoever does will find her hands full—one big cardboard box, wrapped and not at all lightweight, plus another wrapped rectangle atop. With her arms out straight down, Aubrey can just peer over it.]
[And someone arrived even later than that was Luz! She normally would have arrived early or at least on time, but it had been a rough week, and she had to actually create the gifts. She showed up with her gifts, along with the ones that Kel had asked her to bring.
She happened to arrive just before Aubrey though, and made a strangled noise].
[He's joking and the tone is teasing as hers. He is the one who bothered people about tthe birthday like it was his own- but now he's busy getting up all the stuff for the party. There are simple things, like apple slices cut in a way that they seem to have little bunny ears, skewers with grapes cut and rerranged so every bite is heart shaped. He did summon is inner Hero the momst for the cakes though. There are two tablecloth on the wooden table, one black and one white, and food is being split in two wides.- one for Omori, where Happy Birthday Omori little banner and a cat shaped cake. ON the other side? A Strawberry shortcake sits with because he remembered his brother preparing it often and it's one of the only japanese- influenced cakes he managed to make without a recipe. (And, of course, a 'Happpy Birthday Sunny' Banner was there on that side, too) Rest in pieces, Eren, Basil, Vaggie and Zelda's stomaches for enduring the barrage off sweets he delivered.
Presents are also divided in two piles as he places the darker packed ones on one side, all for Omori, and the brighter boxes on the other side for Sunny. He points Luz and Aubrey in that direction.]
Almost done, friends. I just need a second here.
[And, since he wasn't sure of how many candles place on top of each cake, since it was hard to tell how long Omori had been around, he put a single unlit candle on top of each cake, right in the middle. It was supposed to work, right? Chips, snacks, sweets, it was also added in the bowls, he was so glad Basil helped him out as much as he did, and he placed a large bouquet of flowers from his housemate's garden right in the middle.
Perfect. Right? The last thing to add was some light and since he couldn't affords christmas lights or anything like that.... he had to improvise. The light from outside was still bright enough, at least, and that had to be enough. The teen opened a water bottle, pouring it all down but using his powers to suspend it in the air in small, small droplets. Kel moved near Sunny, to make sure he'd get the right angle to give him a pretty view of a rainbow in the room when he turned around. That... required more concentration than he cared to admit. A nod to greet Luz and, shifting just slightly to lett the others move to Sunny's side after putting down the presents...]
You can do the honors, buddies.
[He was far too close to accidentally dropping all the water all over the place to go with happy birthday things and such, but at least everything was ready.]
( Basil feels a little more withdrawn when Aubrey and Luz arrive, but it's a far cry to when he had been scared of her when he had first arrived. Despite their emotional outbursts from the other day, it's a little less overwhelming to be here now when there was a group. He gives a quiet nod to both Aubrey and Luz. )

Basil helped when he could. It felt a little strange and nostalgic to help Kel with the planning, and the presents. He had quietly planned for a present of his own, but it wasn't for Sunny. He had been right when Kel had said that this was also Omori's birthday, after all.

[Silence - stunned. His mouth just barely hangs open, dark eyes fixed on glittering rainbow droplets and two cakes, two table cloths, two banners - Sunny and Omori...
[Beyond that, there's no reaction, for a moment. It's hard to tell if he's upset - what he's thinking at all, really. He only stares, still cradling Spooky in his arms.]
[Kel really, really went all-out for this. Gang’s all here, even Luz; and for all Aubrey’s, ahem, turmoils with (at minimum) a couple people here, the mood feels light.
[Aubrey plants her gifts right between the piles, for both Sunny and Omori. The wrapping is colorful, neither only dark or only light. The egregiousness is not strictly intentional, but, details.

[Okay, yes, she shows up a little late. The logistics of hauling a small load of [gift redacted over a drawbridge were… a detail she probably could have thought more about in advance.
[Anyway, she gives the door a knock-kick with her foot.]

[Whoever does will find her hands full—one big cardboard box, wrapped and not at all lightweight, plus another wrapped rectangle atop. With her arms out straight down, Aubrey can just peer over it.]

[He's joking and the tone is teasing as hers. He is the one who bothered people about tthe birthday like it was his own- but now he's busy getting up all the stuff for the party. There are simple things, like apple slices cut in a way that they seem to have little bunny ears, skewers with grapes cut and rerranged so every bite is heart shaped. He did summon is inner Hero the momst for the cakes though. There are two tablecloth on the wooden table, one black and one white, and food is being split in two wides.- one for Omori, where Happy Birthday Omori little banner and a cat shaped cake. ON the other side? A Strawberry shortcake sits with because he remembered his brother preparing it often and it's one of the only japanese- influenced cakes he managed to make without a recipe. (And, of course, a 'Happpy Birthday Sunny' Banner was there on that side, too) Rest in pieces, Eren, Basil, Vaggie and Zelda's stomaches for enduring the barrage off sweets he delivered.
Presents are also divided in two piles as he places the darker packed ones on one side, all for Omori, and the brighter boxes on the other side for Sunny. He points Luz and Aubrey in that direction.]

[And, since he wasn't sure of how many candles place on top of each cake, since it was hard to tell how long Omori had been around, he put a single unlit candle on top of each cake, right in the middle. It was supposed to work, right? Chips, snacks, sweets, it was also added in the bowls, he was so glad Basil helped him out as much as he did, and he placed a large bouquet of flowers from his housemate's garden right in the middle.
Perfect. Right? The last thing to add was some light and since he couldn't affords christmas lights or anything like that.... he had to improvise. The light from outside was still bright enough, at least, and that had to be enough. The teen opened a water bottle, pouring it all down but using his powers to suspend it in the air in small, small droplets. Kel moved near Sunny, to make sure he'd get the right angle to give him a pretty view of a rainbow in the room when he turned around. That... required more concentration than he cared to admit. A nod to greet Luz and, shifting just slightly to lett the others move to Sunny's side after putting down the presents...]
You can do the honors, buddies.
[He was far too close to accidentally dropping all the water all over the place to go with happy birthday things and such, but at least everything was ready.]

( They had shared a nice conversation over Sleepr. He's glad to know that Kel and the others were making good friends here.
Basil helped when he could. It felt a little strange and nostalgic to help Kel with the planning, and the presents. He had quietly planned for a present of his own, but it wasn't for Sunny. He had been right when Kel had said that this was also Omori's birthday, after all.
He looks to Aubrey and Luz -- a small, uncertain smile on his face. )

[Silence - stunned. His mouth just barely hangs open, dark eyes fixed on glittering rainbow droplets and two cakes, two table cloths, two banners - Sunny and Omori...
[Beyond that, there's no reaction, for a moment. It's hard to tell if he's upset - what he's thinking at all, really. He only stares, still cradling Spooky in his arms.]

[Two gift piles… huh.
[Kel really, really went all-out for this. Gang’s all here, even Luz; and for all Aubrey’s, ahem, turmoils with (at minimum) a couple people here, the mood feels light.
[Aubrey plants her gifts right between the piles, for both Sunny and Omori. The wrapping is colorful, neither only dark or only light. The egregiousness is not strictly intentional, but, details.
[She turns back to the boy with a small, hopeful smile.]

[Kel. It was Kel, obviously. And Luz, still recovering but glad to get out here, did add her gifts to the pile. It was small and intimate, and she liked that. She could totally handle some time with people she knew and got to really like].

[COme on, Kel, don't drop all the goddarn water over the food AND the presents, you're better than that. He takes a deep breath, slapping his hands together so all droplets bounce together in a large ball and... he tosses it out trough the door that was still open. He knows omori's birthday is probably around THE DAY stuff went down, but...]
Just a small celebration for our beloved friends! Gotta admit it was hard to plan around Omori, we don't exactly know his tastes, but that only means we need to know him bette and, duh, be ready for something better next year, right?
Let's start the celebration folks! Who is going to start singing 'happy birthday to you' in a moo embarrassing way? Come on, come on, don't leave all the hard work to me! I already have plenty of fun stuff planned.
