castle d'omori

On the edge of what remains of the outskirts of Somnius, there is a dark-stoned castle, looming over a hillside. A wide moat surrounds the fortress, with a curious, lizard-like creature swimming in its waters. The drawbridge allows only those who the owner has approved to pass. The castle sits in the midst of a large garden, with pretty outdoor tables and topiaries carved into unsettling shapes. Is that a human heart...?

Approaching the castle's entrance, you get the sensation that you are utterly, completely alone. The massive door bears a door-knocker in the shape of a red, human hand. Do you know the secret handshake?

Castle Proper

The castle walls are high, disappearing into dark, cavernous ceilings that light can't seem to penetrate. Cold marble floors stretch in every direction, every footstep echoing as one makes their way into the castle. Moving straight ahead, the main foyer leads directly to the throne room, blocked by a heavy, black door. Off to the sides, one will find all manner of areas to explore: a kitchen, living spaces, a ballroom, corridors full of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc., etc. They're all fully furnished, but...oddly empty.

There's music playing somewhere...
Throne Room

The throne room is closed off by a massive black door, though it opens easily when one tests the handle. Upon opening the door, it's immediately clear that this is no ordinary throne room. Red arms crop out from every surface, warping together in the center of the room to create an aisle, stairs, and eventually, a throne made of two massive, cupped, red hands.

Omori sits in the center.
Gallery & Studio

The studio is a mess, various art supplies strewn about - charcoals, crayons, colored pencils, markers, paints, brushes, sketchbooks, canvases, on and on and on. The red and black supplies always seem to be running out, despite there being twice as many of them as there are any other color. Smocks and little berets are available upon entry and absolutely must be worn at all times.

If one feels like appreciating art instead of creating it, they may enter the gallery. It's quite dimly lit, and filled with strange and somewhat disturbing art. This is Omori's personal collection. There's also a roped off section for art left by castle guests. If you work hard, maybe you'll get a feature.

Playground

Why are there no lights in the playground? The depth of the ball pit can't be determined. There are plenty of places to hide in the plastic cubes and tubes. The slide feels longer than it looks. There's a tunnel leading outside...

To quite the normal playground! Your typical jungle gym, a swing set, seesaw, merry-go-round, basketball hoop - the whole nine yards! The tunnel leading back looks so dark in comparison...

The Dungeons

The dungeons are a dreary place. They lay beneath the castle, water dripping echoes off of the stone walls. It's dark, the cells barren, save for the empty chains that hang from the walls. You might spot a skeleton if you peer through the bars, but don't worry - it's probably fake.

There's a larger room right in the core of the dungeons, with a large table, and an assortment of knives. It's guarded on each side by two marble statues.

They look familiar...
